Welcome to this week’s video blog!
This week I’m going to put our discussion about the Bright Future Program on hold because some very important questions came in that I feel should be answered here so everyone can learn from them. Lisa from Illinois runs a group home, and I’m honored that the residents watch this blog as part of their weekly discussion meeting. Lisa asked if I have ever cut myself, and if I was still on Medication.
These are questions that have come up a couple of times in my discussions with others on their recovery journey, and that’s why I wanted to share with you here. I’ll answer these questions, but I’d like to go beyond just giving the straight answers. I’m going to dive a little deeper into what is going on in the psyche of a person who cuts or self-mutilates, and give some tips for how you can help someone who is going through this sort of situation.
As many of you know, I am still on long-term medication. I’d like to give some detail around my experiences with medication both in the past as well as side effects I continue to experience to this day.
Did this help you? Do you have questions you’d like me to answer? Let me know in the comments below!
